'First, do enough training. Then believe in yourself and say: I can do it. Tomorrow is my day. And then say: the person in front of me, he is just a human being as well; he has two legs, I have two legs, that is all. That is mentally how you prepare.'
Whether you are an ‘Age Group’ athlete looking to take their performance to the next level, or competing at triathlon for the very first time, you need to train in a specific way to reach your own personal goals in an effective manner. A training plan provides a systematic and progressive approach to your training. Tangible measurement of your progress is one of the key elements to your plan.
Self coaching works to an extent, but to maximise your potential you need a coach.
Richard is a Level 3 British Triathlon Coach, Certified Ironman Coach, and has many years experience of racing at all distances. He has qualified and raced twice at the IRONMAN World Championships Kona Hawaii. We understand most Tri-athletes’ have to fit their training around their everyday lives, and we will work with you to put together the best possible plan for the season based on how little, or how much time you have. Your program will be specific to your own goals. Not only that but you will get support, motivation and encouragement with your training through regular contact via e-mail or phone plus the opportunity to attend regular team training sessions.
Richard is also an Ironman certified coach. He studied with the Ironman University, a curriculum developed with the leading people in Ironman training, namely Mark Allen, Dave Scott, Paula Newby-Frazer, Matt Dixon and many other experts, to bring the best minds in triathlon together.
